7 destinations under 2500 rupees per day

2500 Indian Rupees is little over 30 US dollars

Many of you are going 2500 rupees is not cheap deep!

Yes, I know. Traveling abroad is not cheap it does cost a quite a bit to travel but how you travel also matters.

Obviously, your first step should be to save money. Genius right?!

But if you come from a low wage country like India or for that matter any of the other countries in the Indian Subcontinent.

You’ll find that it takes 4x to 5x more time to save the same amount of money as compared to western or european countries where the currency is stronger.

Individuals who work in countries with high wages can make the most out of the money by traveling to countries where the cost of living is low and try to stretch every dollar.

This concept is called as Geo Arbitrage.

My point is, for some of us 30 US dollars might not seem like a lot money but for some 2180 INR does even though they are equal amount.

As a traveler, this makes a significant difference. Where a fellow traveler can save up 5000 USD working in Canada or Australia a lot quicker that a traveler in India or Nepal.

By using the concept of Geo Arbitrage you can also save money quicker and travel further. To learn more about Geo Arbitrage and how it works Click HERE.

Initially, you do have to work in your own country to save money.

So I wanted to make a list of destinations which are not only pocket friendly for our international travel buddies but also for my fellow travelers who live in the Indian Subcontinent.

Our backpack recommendation :-  LOWEPRO PROTACTIC 450 AW

Before I start with the list,

I want you to know that this type of budget travel is not luxurious and certainly not for people who are not open to change.

Also, the 2500 INR will only cover few basic things such as stay, food and drinks.

In terms of Visa, I have included destinations which are favorable to Indian Passports.

Let’s count down our 7 destinations under 2500 rupees per day

Greece

Greece

After its economic crisis in 2008 the country has been on the list of every budget traveler. Even though Greece is in the Eurozone, hostels, restaurants and activities can cost you less than what you would expect from a European country. 2,160 Indian rupees is equal to 30 dollars or 27 euros (Depending on the exchange rate). A hostel bed for one night can cost you as low as 10 to 12 euros. Most popular destinations are Crete and Santorini island.

Best Time For Budget Travel: Their off season is in the winter i.e., from late Oct to April.

Bonus tip: If you are a backpacker then buy a cheap bicycle which will help you get around easily

Thailand

Thailand

Thailand is an easy pick for Indians. For Indian Passport holders, visa on arrival for 15 days (2000 baht for application mandatory).1850 INR (25 USD) is equal to 822 baht. This will include the stay (Private room) for 250 baht, for food 200 baht and for transportation (motorbike) 200 baht. You can certainly do it for cheaper but it would vary from day to day depending on your activities. Chang Mai, Krabi, and all the “Koh” islands are very popular places to visit.

Out of all the destinations under 2500 rupees per day, Budapest is on top of my bucket list.

Bulgaria

Bulgaria

The capital, Sofia is one of the best places to explore as it has a lot of recently discovered ruins from the roman empire. It can cost you upto 23 lev (14 USD) which is little over 1000 INR.

Cost of Flight tickets, activities, entertainment and transportation within the destination would be over and above that so you need to factor in those costs
