Looking to get inspired? Well you’ve come to the right place. The following are some of my favorites “travel movies” in no particular order. When it comes to travelling, there are many documentaries that come to mind but that is a list for another day. I thought I would recommend some of the main stream movies that I really like. Travel movies genre is more about self discovery and finding your way forward.
My favorite travel movies:-
Watch the original movie which inspired “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” Fandango is one of those road trip movies that we all want to be a part of. I love how wild the characters get as they reach close to their goal of finding dom.
Up in the air
Up in the air is not your typical travel movie, meaning travel is not the main subject here. But it does showcase how air travel has become so second nature to us. That professionals have a whole efficient system build around them to pass through countless security checks, airports and lounges with out missing a beat. Plus, George Clooney shows us how the pros travel in style.
A Good Year
I absolutely loved this movie and ever since I saw it, I wanted to move to south of France. The movie brought nostalgic memories of me spending my time at my grandmother’s house back when I was a child. It has all the right ingredients of drama, mystery, romance and adventure. One of my favorite feel good movies, I highly recommend it.
Under the Tuscan Sun
Hector and the Search for Happiness
Secret Life of Walter Mitty
Secret Life of Walter Mitty is one of my favorite movies about travel and dare I say one day it might also reach the status of a cult classic. The movie really emphasizes the message stop dreaming and start living. It also talks about us how sometimes, we give up on our dreams to support our family and it’s important to follow our dream wherever it might take you. Ben stiller is great in his role and a cameo by the uber cool Sean Penn just completes the experience.
Feel free to share this with anyone looking for a initial push to get them started on their journey.
